the finish line is in sights

With about a month left in the semester, I have begun making preparations for what is to become of me post-graduation. Typically, most students after graduating make off back home, or on some lavish trip, but I’ll likely be working and taking a class come January. Part of it is because I have one unfulfilled core requirement (lab science) and I need to take care of that as soon as possible, and the other part is that I don’t want to go back to LA. My hopes are to stay in SF until later next year and depending on the outcome of my grad school applications, I’ll decide on where to end up.

I am looking forward to this free time in SF to get my bearings in order, most likely pick up a salary job and continue working freelance as a means of making myself more marketable. In addition, I’ll be continuing my work with the Foghorn as I’ll still be taking classes at USF, and I need more time with them to finish the implementation of the new web devices. So, it’s looking like next semester will be as busy as this semester minus the distractions of Spanish and my other classes.
As for what’s been going on in my life right now:

- I’ve begun wrapping up the production on the new Foghorn Online. As we hurry to tie up the loose ends on both the site and its outlets, I have begun showing it around campus. General feedback has been amazingly positive, as many love the new structure. I still see the site as a heap of raw data that needs better structure, but due to time restrictions it’ll likely stay the same as we move into beta. But like I said, feedback has been good and I am looking forward to testing it out with the group. If you’d like to take part in the testing please let me know, the more the merrier. - Grad school and the GRE: As I also start the application process to both University of Baltimore and the Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago, I have come to realize that I am very far behind the rest of the group and should have started this ages ago. But it will get done, and my application will be done and finalized by the end of November (that’s my plan). I will be taking the GRE on November 19th so the cram has officially begun.
- I graduate in about a month and a half. Hee hee wOOOO!!!!
The holidays are upon us! Need I say more?! Happy Halloween!
